You haven't got a proxy server set in IE have you?

EDIT: If you are using static I.Ps you might have the wrong default gateway set.

Check there's no proxy settings enabled, set IP things to auto

Doesn't that just reset the tcp/ip protocol stack? If so i've done that. I'll give the program a go though.

Proxy settings have been reset to default.

Sounds like an internet gateway issue. Does it pick up it's IP via DHCP? I assume you can ping loopback address?

Have you got another device to try ? IE laptop/iPad/iPhone ? This will tell you if it's a problem with the end device or after the end device. You can then rule out things slowly. Do things one at a time changing each device.

Try a USB (or other) NIC?

I've seen Windows machines with horribly borked IP stacks and no amount of fiddling other than another NIC worked.

There's various devices on the network throughout the day, PCs macbooks, phones etc.. all fine

Tried a few different wifi adapters and tethering via my phone. Can't run a cable unfortunately

Therefore there is your answer. It has to be PC related to that machine.

Just format it, will be less hassel.

Yea as I've said I'm not going to be able to format it, much as I'd like to. Ready to give up on it tbh

That's not the attitude to have. Formatting will be the only way to resolve it I dare say.

Maybe try booting up off a Live Ubuntu CD or similar just to test the hardware and network? It'll rule something out at least.

Alternatively clone the hare disk and test a rebuild. Or drop in a second drive and build windows onto it to test.

Try and rule out some variable to make your life a little simpler.
