Wipeout HD screens

Looks excellent to me, PSN title or not. Love the handling myself, Wipeout is the only futuristic racing series I've played that got the handling right IMO. I've bought so many similar games over the years that looked good but didn't play well. F-Zero was the only one that got close.

God I hope this is due soon, can't wait. Also can't wait for the full new PS3 Wipeout game. Love the series.

Using custom soundtracks is easy. Any Playlist that resides in your XMB can be loaded either in the Options menu or during gameplay. While the game's original soundtrack is a great collection of the best tunes from Wipeout Pulse remixed into lovely 5.1 sound, we recommend Prodigy's Music for the Jilted Generation, Bomfunk MC's Super Electric and the Wip3out soundtrack.

I'm not looking to start a flame war, just expressing my opinion. I just cannot get into the Wipeout style games (futuristic, fast paced racers) they're just not my thing. I can appreciate people enjoy them, but the Wipeout games are always something that'll keep me pleased for about 10-15 minutes and has no replayability or longevity for me.

How is me saying I'm not a fan of Wipeout any more silly than somebody saying "Yeah Wipeout! Brilliant!" :confused:

You really have to learn the track, especially on later levels..start turning before the corner, nose up. Otherwise you just go at a snails pace, or slam into the opposite wall.

yep, a must buy, love the game and love the music the series always provides, one of a few games where soundtrack is just as good as the game.

I'll have to get a PS3 just for that, I absoloutly love the Wipeout games. Liked the frst one os the PS1, then 2097 was just the muts nuts :D. Completed all of them including wipeout 3, wipeout 3 SE, wipeout 64, sipeout XL wipeout fusion and wipeout pure.

I know loads of people hated fusion for its ludicrus speed factor, but man that was the best. Any 1 remember the zone level challenges you unlocked after completing the champtionship mode? you're ment to survive 30 levels, all the time it gets faster and faster with no way of slowing down. Managed to get to level 75 a few times :D

*cry* I wish they'd bring out one of the more recent wipeout games for PC..

2097 looks ancient now, and is frame limited so can't be run higher than 30fps without playing at double the speed!
 
I can't really think of anything they can do to make the graphics look better, how exciting can you make a futuristic racecourse in space.

I played Wipeout on the PS1 but after that I could not get along with the handling at all so I hope this is one I can get along with a little better.

I'm pretty excited about this tbh, please god let them include the one-hit-kill missile, a nightmare to get a hit with it, but hearing that 'Contender eliminated' announcement when you did, ranks as one of the most satisfying sounds in my long gaming life.
