i always preferred f-zero to wipeout
Same here, but I still prefer Fzero X to GX, it just felt better. Wipeout never really gave me any sense that I was racing, or that I was steering.

I had wipeout for my PSP and I absolutely loved it! :D
I think that they would need to do what they did with the PS2 version, make it look very pretty, BIIIIG drops, etc.
I would love it if they would slow down the speed on the higher levels though, a guy can only take sooo much! :p
A level editor would be cool

Now that a PS3 version is underway .
Woohoo! Finally a reason to get a PS3! :)

I love the wipeout series, although it's never quite hit the heights of the original PS1 wipeout since then. They've all had great soundtrack, great graphics and near perfect gameplay though. Sadly none of the other similar games like the Extreme G series have been able to get the gameplay right.

Reading this has made me curious about F Zero, and I've got a Gamecube, so is F Zero GX worth picking up cheap for a quick Wipeout fix?

Yep, when I had a GC I borrowed it from a friend and never wanted to give it back.
Ordered  If it's half as good as the review I've just read suggests I'm gonna have lots of fun with it.

am i the only person who absolutely hates wipeout?

f zero tho, theres another story for ya ;)

Only played FZero on the SNES, I thought it was amazing at first - the way it transformed bitmaps to give the 3D feel. Played it recently, had some multiplayer. Fun for a while with a friend but apart from that it's pretty boring.

Damn fun game this F Zero GX, amazingly quick and addictive and well worth the tenner I paid for it. I still prefer how the ships fly in wipeout though - the more controlled way you can keep them in a constant drift round corners, whereas in F Zero GX you only really use drifting for the really tight turns. Wipeout is cooler too - better visuals, better designs and better music. Since my brother has the PS2 at the moment though, F Zero GX is a good substitue.

wipeout was fantastic, everytime i remember it, i want to watch hackers lol.

Does no one remember the legend that was rollcage and rollcage II :D
