Wiping HDD

Is that guide sufficient? My older model MacBook Pro is going to a new home and I need to wipe it.

Once wiped, do I hold 'C' and then reinstall from the disk etc?

Your MacBook Pro might automatically boot from the disk after the HD has been wiped. If not, pressing C as you mentioned, will boot from the disk.
