Fully aware of the 50mm deep or metal ducted + earthed or RCD protection.
If I'm running an extension from an existing socket with a back box about 3m along a wall. if the 50mm will be a problem (have tools that may well do the job but... maybe not quite so deep), am I correct in assuming that because there's RCD on the circuit I can go shallower without issue? I'd likely metal duct it just to be on the safe side and earth the ducting to the back box I'm starting from.
That sound to be inside regs?
Would I be better just paying a sparky to do it?
