I've got a really annoying problem where my PC will refuse to shut down if my 360 pad is still plugged in. It just stays on the "Shutting down" screen until I unplug the controller on which it instantly turns off. I also have another issue where sometime my PC will turns itself on and give me a "Windows has recovered from an error" message with the code 0x1033 .

Anyone know or heard of these problems before and how to fix them? Cheers.

Oh, and my specs are Windows 7 Pro 64bit, 2500k (4.4GHz), GD53, DCUII 6950, 4GB RAM, HX650.

Have you looked for updated drivers?

Also have you tried uninstalling the device and re-installing - i.e. removing the drivers and making the system find the device again etc?

You could also try updaing your chipset drivers and even try a different USB port.

Have you also considered that the controller may be at fault - have you got another you could try?

So far I've tried removing the device and have tried around 5 different ports (Front and back). I'll try updating the chipset drivers but I only have the one pad so I can't be sure if it's faulty or not, it works fine in games though. Cheers.
