When I plug my Ethernet cable into my pc, the lights come on next to the cable but nothing happens in windows. I plugged it into my old pc and it picked it up straight away.
I have not got round to installing motherboard drivers yet would that effect it?
I also I have a wireless card in my pci slot should I remove it?

Please give me some help this 500kbps wireless is painful.

If the drivers for the network adapter aren't installed it won't work. If Windows hasn't installed them automatically you'll need to do it yourself.

There's no need to remove the wireless adapter.
