Just curious as to the general consensus here really.

I'm a programmer/IT manager so I do a lot of typing, and having seen the graphics designer take delivery of a new iMac and seen how tiny the wireless keyboard is, and how it lacks a Delete button and numeric keypad.. I'm having second thoughts about mine. I can live without the numeric keypad I think, but I don't want to be slowed down if I can help it.

I'm also thinking I might possibly miss the USB ports you get on the wired keyboard, as I'm often plugging USB sticks and suchlike in.

Mine is still on order (with wireless keyboard & magic trackpad). I can cancel the order at this stage but I don't think I can modify it, and I don't want to risk delaying it by even trying.

So... do you guys find the wireless keyboard easy to live with for sustained typing?

The main part of the keyboard is exactly the same on both, the only differences are no number pad, small cursor keys, no delete/page up//page down keys. And the fn key is in a different place. The actual layout and size of the qwerty keys is no different so in general it won't make and difference to your speed.

wireless.. you can get a separate number pad or one that bolts on to the wireless keyboard after if needed, or even a third party BT full keyboard. I've never used a number pad, the only issue I find is when I'm entering loads numbers in a excel spread sheet, then its quicker for me to grab a standard 105 keyboard. Luckily that hardly ever happens.

I'm so used to typing with the flat light touch/press keyboards of the macs and other laptops I can't use a standard keyboard for very long as my fingers ache and I'm also catching keys.
