I think the main downside of AA batteries is the added weight and weight distribution.
@koolpc Damn large hands and palm grip… that’s exactly the combo I was hoping to avoid.
I’d actually come up with a mouse which uses the PixArt 3395 sensor (the sensor used in most current flagship mice), with internal battery and USB-C for £39.99… but the size and shape is aimed more at small to medium hands who use claw grip.
Larger mice are less common, and ones with a top tier sensor and a built-in rechargeable battery with USB-C are all quite expensive, so struggling to find something perfect with it having to be inexpensive.
One option that does tick a lot of boxes is the Glorious Model D Wireless. it’s wireless, USB-C rechargeable, its shape is similar to Deathadder V3/V4 and the Zowie EC series so well suited for Med to Large hands using Palm Grip.
It uses a lesser sensor than current flagship mice, but unlikely to tell a difference tracking wise as they are all pretty much perfect in this day and age.
It can be had for £34.99.
The already suggested Logitech G502 would perhaps would be a better balance of general use and gaming, but it appears to be £90 +
