wired switch with wireless extender?

I need a 1GB switch to wire in a PC and console to a Sky router, but also it needs to provide a wireless access point that duplicates the sky wireless setup in the house. does such a thing exist?

i purchased a netgear wireless access point , but that appears to create its own network SSID with the wireless access point.

You should be able to reconfigure the Netgear ap to have the same ssid and key as the router. It won't be 100% perfect but generally kit will find the strongest signal.

As above, you should be able to go into the settings and set everything the same. What's the model of the AP? You also want to make sure it's set to use a different wireless channel (eg Sky on 1, Netgear on 6) to avoid any issues between the two.
