So before I throw a lot of money at the wrong product, I'm leaning towards the Skullcandy PLYR1's (over the astro's / actual headphones) as seems to offer virtually the same feature set / quality but at £150 + £20 chat adaptor.
The thing is Skullcandy bought Astro, so they were different products, now they are two different types of products aimed at different people who have a brand awareness of either or.
Astro are still very much associated with the pro gaming circuit due to the historic MLG partnership.
Looking at the aesthetics of the Skullcandy I still prefer the look of the Astro headsets, but again that's personal preference.
Do the Astros have any additional features? Looks as though they have rotating ear pads so perhaps more comfortable, and 5.8ghz wireless but unsure if hats realistically better than 2.4ghz.
The Astros are somewhat annoying as the PS4 headset looks the best but doesn't come with the chat adaptor.
