Wireless adapter

Hi,

I built a computer a few years ago and I don't think it has a wireless adapter built into it.

Is it possible to buy an adapter that I could put inside the tower or is it easier to buy a usb adapter?

Recently upgraded to Sky Fibre and only getting 14mbs through an ethernet adapter like

If you have a free expansion slot you can add an internal wireless adapter. OcUK's selection is here: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/peripherals/networking-and-wireless-lan/wireless-lan/adapter-cards.

USB would be easier, but installing a card isn't very difficult.

Would speeds vary between internal and external? If USB is just as fast I may aswell get one of those...

I never had much luck with USB adapters but the internal PCI-E 1x card I used instead was rock solid.

Cable straight from PC to Router would be the best solution. Have you considered this? or is it not practical?

In my experience Home Plugs provide better speed and reliability than WiFi. Not exactly sure what spec the ones you've been using are but I can highly recommend the Solwise AV2 1200Mbps variety. They should handle the bandwidth of your Sky Fibre easily.
