wireless aerial

The aerial on my house mates wireless card is a load of pants, he gets one bar and when he tried the aerial from my Linksys he got 4/5 bars, can anyone recommend an aerial for him?

Which are the best ones to go for the higher Dbi rated ones or the lower? I'm guessing the higher the Dbi the better the signal?

I gave the info to my Dad as his wireless sucked and it improved the signal strength from 1/2 bars to 4/5 bars. He used the Ez-10 10 dB Corner Reflector Template

and if it doesn't work then all you have lost is a bit of cardboard and tinfoil.
