I want a good wireless aerial, which has a wire that i can extend it and put it away from either my computer or router like wall mounted or something, as my desktop is just in range of my router and drops connection sometimes. What is the best one to get which has high gain and isnt too over priced.

Thanks

Was looking at this one but cant give a link.

Zyxel Zyair Ext 105 5dbi Omni directional Antenna

My only concern is, do antenna have different fittings to one another, say a linksys pci like i have having a different aerial fitting to my buffalo router?

yeah I was always curious of this. But im think all aerial connections are the same.

One better aerial may help but remember theirs allways 2 aerials involved in a tranmission. Both the router and the PC have to be happy with the conenction.

Homeplug (ethernet thoruhg the mains wirings at alternative)

afraid not mate thee are quite a few different connection types, although there are also quite a few adapters/leads too :)

I had a very similar problem as you.

I was literally just in range of my router as the study is in the back bedroom and the router is in the dining room on the other side of the house.

I used 2 different models of USB Adapter and had problems with connections dropping and then I came accross the Abit Airpace Wi-Fi.

It comes with about a metre of cable attatched to an Antenna and the signal never drops below 'very good' now.

Have a look here
