Hi

i am trying out Ubuntu 7.10 on my dell inspiron 1300 and the wireless is not working any help on getting it to work be great

im a noob at linux first time using it always used windows

Thanx mike

It should be a Broadcom 4318 chipset, my dad's laptop is the same one. Not tried ubuntu, but I got it working in Fedora 8 (even from the LiveCD!) with a bit of tweaking.

I think they're the same thing, though it may be any 43xx chipset instead. Basic procedure for me was to get the firmware out of the Windows driver files, put that on the filesystem and reload the driver module.

True, they do use Broadcom for the LAN as well so its likely...
