Wireless connection problems with Vista

Hi,

Just got a new laptop and attempted to connect to my router with CAT5 cable. Couldn't get it working correctly so basically gave up. In the meantime I have somehow screwed the laptops wireless connectivity. It shows a wireless connection to the modem with good signal but won't allow me to actually connect to the internet.

Any idea's ?

Running Vista on the Laptop and the Modem / Router is a Netgear DG834G 54Mbps Wireless ADSL Modem/Router/Switch/Firewall

what does it say when you try to connect?

maybe you changed you wep/wpa password by mistake?

not at home at present but i recall it saying that the laptop and the pc were both trying to use the same IP address..... it tried to fix the problem itself but was unable to

sorted, just used sytem restore to a couple days ago......
