Just re-installed my gf's laptop with Windows XP Home.

Everything's gone perfect, except I have come to install the in built wireless and it doesnt seem to be the one that HP provide drivers for:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=uk&lang=en&dlc=en&product=347163

Her laptop is a Presario 2100 Series (Model: 2143A) so that is the correct page, but the Broadcom drivers on there just exits after unpacking.

I also don't think it was broadcom anyways.

How can I find out what it is?

Device manager > network adapters iirc.

When you find out who made it you can go find the drivers on their site. :)

I have already checked in there and it simply says "network device" as it doesnt know what it is.

This is why I need the drivers.

Aha, so, have you tried extracting the driver, then copying it to the relevant folders? Or going to the device in device manager selecting update driver and browsing to where you extracted it?

Well thats the thing, it doesn't say where it extracts it to :S

It did for me, it even let me select where to, I'll get it again and post the default location for you.

Edit: c:\SWSetup\SP28537A
