Wireless gaming lag?

Hi

I'm planning to move my computer away from the modem and router (a WRT54G) and the only option is to get a wireless card for it. The computer won't be placed very far away and I usually get 100% reception when my laptop is placed in the same position.

My main concern is gaming lag (e.g. BF2); will it be a problem? Is it hugely noticeable? Is there anything I can do to reduce it, like getting a specific wireless PCI card or configuring the router in a certain way?

Any advice would be hugely appreciated! :)

i cant see it giving you any lag as long as the signal is ok, there is another option you could go for now days and thats using HomePlug Ethernet Network Adapters. it uses the power cables in the house to send the data

some think like this

but im not sure of ocuk sell them.

you can get the adaptor speeds in: 14mbs 85mbs and 200mbs
