This would be one hell of a thing to have.
Handy if you have a projector on the other side of the room from your players, or you have HDTVs in different rooms, so you could watch a bluray on each without having to splash out on more players.

Handy if you run a shop too I guess!

That'd be handy for the house (currently have my Sky HD going from RF2 via RJ59 to the bedroom ~ 15m) so I could watch my recorded shows in HD, in the bedroom.. no wires

That would still only allow you to watch on 1 TV at a time. It would allow you to start watching a film downstairs, and then move up to bed half way through. You would just have to carry the receiver.

The philips one is meant to be about $299 (dollars) and meant to been available in May 2007 (but i can't seem to find it for sale anywhere)

CES 2008: Panasonic announce WirelessHD offering

6 January 2008 20:20 GMT - The spec was only announced last week, but that hasn't stopped Panasonic announcing the first wireless High Definition (HD) Audio/Video transmission system based on the “WirelessHD” standard at CES in Las Vegas.

WirelessHD or "WiHD" is a wireless high definition digital interface standard operating in the unlicensed and globally available 60GHz frequency band and will be the first consumer application of 60GHz technology.

It is suitable for a wide range of devices including televisions, HD disc players, set-top boxes, camcorders, gaming consoles, adapter products, as well as other devices and designed to allow you to put your AV equipment in a cupboard out of sight while your television sits on the wall cable free.

The WirelessHD group is currently made up of Intel, LG, Matsushita (Panasonic), NEC, Samsung, SiBEAM, Sony and Toshiba. It faces competion from other wireless technologies, such as UWB, but has the biggest industry backers.
