Wireless I am sure it is making me sick

ok I have decided I am going to get shot of my Belkin wireless ADSL Modem Router as I think it is making me sick ??? I have been getting really bad headaches etc, but if I have unplugged it for a few days, they go away. They return in a few hours of having it back on :eek:

so I have decided to replace in just incase, so question is what do I replace it with. I need to split my connection between two computers that are both upstairs.

anything I should look at ???

Try powerline if you can't lay cables

If you can lay a cable(s) or use powerline with the Belkin you may be able to turn the radio off in the configuration to keep the cost down. I can and have in my Belkin for the same reason.

If your not using the router, are you still using the PC? A lot of headaches are caused by monitors with an incorrect refresh rate. (ie not 75+) personally I can see it even at 75 but not at 85hz.

If you disable the routers wifi dont forget to disable the wifi network card too else that too will be on.

only on CRT's, because the whole screen continually refreshes. LCD's do not, so the "60Hz-headache" is a thing of the past, if you have an LCD

I am using a LCD monitor so it isnt that...I am sure it is the wirless router, as I have only had this problem since having it.

I can lay cables that isnt a problem, although the powerline thing does look good, I think I would sooner have cables.

In Channel & SSID can you select wireless mode ? There are options for various modes, one of which is off. (On mine anyway)

On mine the LED stays on making you think the radio is still active afterwards, but it is actually off. If you restart it the LED goes off.

Is the router in the same room as you? Might be a high pitched whine coming off the coils inside / the power supply.

yes it is on my desk intresting thought I have heard this before somewhere?? wouldnt I be affected with other electrical equipment in the house ??

Cordless phones are similar, do you have those ? Not much else in the average house transmits as much radio power as WiFi & cordless phones.

So, are you saying you have used your computer with the router on a wired connection and you don't get a headache? Just checking you don't get a headache just from using the computer (e.g. eye strain, posture etc).
