After some suspicious activity around my flat I'm looking to get a wireless/ip intercom. Obviously I can't upgrade the externally located intercom. I'm looking to change the current internal one that looks like a phone with a door release button on it.

The new internal intercom should connect to my wifi and call my phone when someone rings the doorbell. I'm struggling to find a product that does this. Anyone know of any?

This is along the lines of what I'm looking for except this is focused on the external intercom which I can't modify. The internal intercom that connects to it is the one I'm looking to change.

What a crap review! I've had one for a over year and it's really useful for deliveries, I just tell them where to put it (a lot won't automatically leave with neighbours). It's saved me plenty of trips to the courier depots. Also, seeing a guy carrying a box to your doorbell gives you a bit of an idea who he is if you don't want to speak to him.

The reason the reviewer has delays is because he's only tested it as an unwired device so to save battery it has to connect to WiFi which takes time. I'd probably not buy one if I didn't have doorbell wiring, as it is a lot slower. He should have tested with a standard doorbell transformer/wiring as well.

yep for something like a doorbell, I'd definately go for hard wired.. batteries are great but you never know when it's running out! To be honest though, most could make do with a web cam (inside window) that connects to an app and alerts your phone.. most people have a spare/old webcam hanging about, it's just finding an app that can be easily configured!
