Hi,

My wife wants to use the HTPC for ITV player and other such online viewing which isnt supported on XBMC setup.. So i want to get a compact wireless keyboard and mouse combo for sofa ranged usage.

Now i have recently purchased a Rii mini wireless keyboard from an online store but its proving to be a bit useless.. the range is appauling (i almost have to hold the keyboard next to the USB dongle for it to work) so wanted some suggestion on an alternative..

I'm aware the logitech diNovo mini is quite good but seems very pricey and has been known to suffer from similar reception problems.. anyone else got a suggestion?

Got one of these - Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400:

Not bad for the price. Range is a bit disappointing however - keyboard about 4-5m, mousepad around 3m. Why the mouse seems to have less range than the keyboard I have no idea.

Unfortunately my standard recumbent position on sofa takes me just out of range.

Sorry that was no help but just sharing my findings and hoping for a better product suggestion too.

Cool thanks for that.. Not seen this model. And although a bit bigger than what i was looking for might be better for my needs.. Just dubious of the range as youve already said it isnt great. Might look a bit more into this..

It's actually very compact and well thought out. Just wish the range was a little better for my needs.

Maybe you've just got a dud Rii ... I've got two of them, wireless version instead of the bluetooth version, one on each of my HTPCs and they work fine 5-6m away from the receivers.

nintenjo, where abouts in the midlands are you? Would like to see the Rii. You might have interference, could be worth trying it somewhere else if you can.

I have a logitech k750i keyboard, it is solar powered- never need to charge it, and it looks very swish too

Near Solihull.. Ill give it a try on my other PC's to see if its the same. But reading reviews it appears im not alone.

I have the standard wireless model. Ive heard the bluetooth model is actually a lot better but i didnt even know there were 2 models before i bought it. If am getting interference i have no idea what from.. if im sat on my sofa it dosnt work at all. Its only about 5 feet away.
