I am looking to buy a all in one router, this means I would like it to have Wireless N (Dual band preferable) Built in ADSL 2+ modem, and at least a 4 port Gbit Switch in it. VPN would be nice but not required, as long as it allows pass through.

Anyone got one they would recommend? I have seen "Linksys WRT610N Simultanous Dual-N Band Wireless-N Draft 2.0 Broadband Router w/Storage Link"
Which looks pretty nice, and it can turn my external drive into a NAS. I know Linksys used to suck, any ideas on if they have improved since Cisco took them over? Any idea on what the software is like?

I am used to Netgear since I Have used DG8345 and the newer P model (MIMO version) and I love these and netgear in general, but netgear only do one which doesn't have an internal modem on it and I'd prefer not to have to shed out 30£ on a modem when I'm already shedding out £100-£150 on a router.

I have only heard good thinkgs about the WRT610N, however I have no personal experience of this.

The WRT610N doesn't have an ADSL modem in it either.

Linksys' cable routers have always been pretty decent - their ADSL hardware was crap but AFAIK that's improved a bit. The biggest issue with the WRT610N is it probably won't run any of the third-party firmware that's around for some of the other WRTs.

Cisco has nothing to do with what Linksys does other than putting their logo on the side in the hope that idiots will think "ooh, Cisco, it must be good (despite being 1/10 the price of an equivalent router from Cisco)".

i came to this section looking for the excat same thing chemical, its pretty hard to find a decent wireless N with gigabit, but i did come across
http://reviews.cnet.com/routers/d-link-dir-655/4505-3319_7-32145084.html?tag=mncol;lst
However, its not a built in modem aswell, which is what im looking for. I'm gonna do some more research and post what i find.

*EDIT*
I found the Belkin N1 vision the modem router version, it also has gigabit. But not sure how good it is.

Anyone else got any opinions at all?

I've got the WRT600N (got it in the states a year before the WRT610N came out here) and it's been perfect....... far better than the Netgear it replaced :)

The best thing about it IMHO is the dual channels, meaning that my iPhone etc can connect to the 2.4ghz channel at 54meg whilst my Laptop connects to the 5ghz channel at 300meg

so other htan the belkin there aren't any with all in one? /cry
Maybe I'm just asking too much, especially since I dont even need it, i just want it cause its something better to spend money on than beer lol.

I wont touch belkin, they used to be good, apperently, but now they tend to be the suck. There are worse, but there is also much better. Might just have to wait till someone releases what I want.

Thanks for the help/opinions.

that sucks, sorry, i should have known better :P
