I have a Netgear DGN2000 and when i enable wireless, set the channel to Auto, set the speed to up to 270 mbps, enable broadcasting SSID and Access Point and use WPA2-PSK, my girlfriend is completely unable to connect, even with excellent signal strength.

We've tried buying a USB wiresless thing and that was having the same issues.

There are a lot of wireless networks around where we live.

Just wondering if anyone could provide us with some help?

Thanks.

Changing it to G and B only didnt have any effect.

Some of the strange things are one moment she can see the network through windows with excellent strength and then the next minute for 1-5 minutes she cant even pick up the router.

Is the laptop running on battery power - if so make sure that the davice is not set to be switched off to save power.

I would try and get the latest drivers for the wifi device as well.

Hey sorry about the late reply.

The laptop is plugged in and is on high power setting.

Were not sure what type her wifi device is, as its a HP branded laptop.

Thanks.
