Me and my brother just brought 2 Laptops form Dell and there on there way, however i want to use a wireless and wired form the same router. What i mean is that on my Dads computer and my PC (that i share with my brother) i want to use the router to connect to those 2 computers through a wired connection and for my Laptop and brothers Laptop to connect through a wireless connection.

I would be very happy if someone could find a router on this website that can do this my laptop uses a 801.11g and my brothers use N so it is still compatible with G. My looking to spend about £50 on the router, if its a bit more i can still afford it I guess about around £50 would be welcomed happily. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

THIS

will do the job if you are with Virgin Media

or

THIS

if you are using ADSL.

Thanks a lot man, can i just ask one thing, how will this run if i play games like UT3, cause i remember my dad tried to set up and i just had huge lag spikes, i could download stuff really well form like torrents and so on but anything that was really life just sux'd. At first my dad was like its good i cant play games but he just went mad when he got lag spikes whilst listening to the radio Lol. well i have such problems now.

Thanks for the great recommendation, im gonna buy it later on today.

The WRT54GL would be far and away a better choice if you're on cable. From the IP you posted with, you're with TalkTalk/AOL though, so you're almost certainly on ADSL.

As for lag spikes, it'll depend on how it was set up and what you were all doing at the time. With a shared connection you won't be able to download and game simultaneously any more than you could with a single machine.

yea im using talk talk, when i move house im think to get virgin so i might have to buy a new router, if i do get virgin in the near furute ill buy the other one as well. But thanks for the advice man.

You'd be better with the WRT54GL and some sort of ethernet ADSL modem (like the AM200), not least because the GL should be able to better flatten out any lag spikes that'll result from the 3 of you using the connection at the same time.

so I use the ADSL modem to get my intrenet connection from the phone line, then i connect the ADSL modem into the WRT's router for cable connect?

The ADSL modem handles the ADSL side of things and just passes an ethernet connection to the router, the same as a cable modem does.

Wasnt too sure how to set it up the way Tolien recommend so i brought the Linksys WAG54GS, and it workers prefectly, i was just wondering what fireware would be best to use. I also saw something about Tomato some were not sure. Thanks for any help.

So what would be the best firewire to run, i wanna post a review but i want to recommend a firewire since i saw a few problems on the intrenet, just to help people out.
