I have a Netgear DG8434G Wireless Router/Modem in my house. It connects my internet etc through my office pc. The problem I am getting is that my younger brother (19) who sits approximatelly 10 metres from the wireless point cannot connect. His wireless card can see the connection which is showing at a 45% signal, but it wont connect. If i walk a laptop from the room the router, then connect then walk back it is fine. But why will it not let me connect from the room itself. I ahve just bought him a new Conroe pc, and its a bummer trying to connect it..

ANythoughts appreciated..

Oh and Ive tried a booster, but my router doesnt support it.. :(

Check and see if you have anything that could be interfering with your router, is there any DECT phones or a microwave in between the two. Also is your PC and the office router further than your younger brothers? Is the idea of wires possible, as a last resort?

there is a wired telephone and answering machine / fax machien between the router and the room im looking to b in.. DECT??????

Wires is possible, but its not very attractive.
