wireless printer - a quick question

This should be a quick easy question for someone to answer for me....

If I have a wifi enabled laptop, can I buy a wireless printer and connect directly to it, or do I have to have a wireless printer server or wireless router for the laptop to print to the printer??

"should" just work without any intermediate node (ie. router, switch, hub)

you may need to set your wifi card to ad-hoc mode as opposed to infrastructure

which printer(s) you thinking about?
