Hi Everyone,
Wondered if anyone can help me.
I have a dynamode USB wireless and at home we've got a BT Home Hub (two crap pieces of kit, you might say, and you'd be right!).
As I type this I am on my Mac (which of course I do not have any problems on), but my parents computer running Windows XP is having problems.
It cannot find the network at all, it says none in range. However, it is in range, as I have enabled to get a connection by, through the wireless connection settings actually imputting the SSID and WEP as a preferred network and then instructing windows to 'configure my wireless settings' (the tick box at the top).
Why is this? Whats more annoying is that when I reboot, it unticks that box, and so I am not connected until I re-tick it again....
What the hell is going on? I am at a complete loss as to why it can't find it in the first place, let alone the strangeness of the unticking of the box, which is my crude way of working around it.
Even when I put the BT cd in, it recognises the network, then when I type in the WEP it says it is incorrect, but I know it is correct because it works in the above configuration!!!
What going on guys? I am pulling my damn hair out - not least because I need to be spending this time revising, not working on my parents computer!
