Hey guys. I've just bought a laptop and I'm looking at going wireless. I've currently got a normal router for my one desktop PC, more for firewall puropses than anything else.

Now basically, I'm looking at buying a wireless router, and connecting my desktop to it by wire, and obviously going wireless with my laptop. Thing is, I'm moving to uni in a while, and while I'm there my family will probably be using it.

This may be a slighty stupid question, but is there a way to turn the wireless mode on and off, and just use the router as a convential wired one? Obviously I'd want it so that when my family go on the desktop, the wireless wasn't working, but when I come back at Xmas and the like, an option so I can switch the wireless on and use it for my laptop, and switch it off when I go back?

Thanks :)
