Wireless Router with Logging for Websites visited - Please advise

One other thing I realised - OpenDNS provides an IP updater for dynamic addresses. But this will need to be installed on all devices that connect. So if it is installed on device 1 and device 2 connects, it will not log stats in Open DNS.

That dynamic address is your public IP on the router, not random devices on your wifi.

Hyperoptic router might not be able to customise DNS but surely you can disable dhcp and just have the pihole handle that?

Yes, but one of the devices needs to be constantly online so it passes the new IP to openDNS everytime. This has to be the device on which the OpenDNS updater is installed.

Thinking about it you're probably on a hiding to nothing.

If you're with Hyperoptic and don't have a static IPv4 address (you could pay for one) they'll probably be using CGNAT for your connection, which AFAIK isn't going to work for what you want.

Depends how savvy you are try Sophos UTM. It’s really powerful for free Wilbur requires a virtual machine or a physical system to run on.

You could also try a Cisco Meraki AP rather than having the WiFi on at the router side just attach all connections through the app. This wouldn’t monitor wired connections though unless you purchased a Cisco Meraki Switch. Not a cheap solution but you won’t really get a simple free solution. It’s eithergoing to be hard to set up or not free if it’s easy to set up.

Good shout on Meraki.. great little bits of kits but the licensing model sucks.

It does I know but I really don’t think there’s going to be a simple cheap solution to this thread. Not properly anyway.

Still a good shout in my opinion. That or the forti in my opinion, both very capable bits of kit. Let's be honest, you want enterprise grade capabilities you are going to be paying out somewhere for proper kit.
