Wireless Router

Hey, i know this must be a really common forum thread but i thought id ask anyway as you people know your stuff

Ive got a belkin 4 port router at the moment, and to be honest its ****.
Ive recently bought a laptop which i want to use wireless, so im after a wireless router that can also be wired.
Im running 2 PCs which will be in the same room as the router, so i would need 2 wired connections, and a laptop which i want to use anywhere in the house, so 2 wired and 1 wireless is what i need.

Are there any manufacturers that i should avoid ?
Any suggestions from people that people are doing what i want to do?

Avoid Belkin, as you've found, they're crap.

is it worth shelling out for something like the linksys wireless-n router and pcmcia card? or will they not make much difference as that'd cost £160.

Linksys WRT54GL will do the job nicely.
