I bought a Linksys WRT45GS router for my Blueyonder connection, ive set it up and my wireless laptop is running nice and fast. At the minute i dont think ive got any security to stop other ppl using my wireless and i dont know how to go about sorting it out. Is it a case of me just setting a password on it? It asks if i want various types of encryption, but i aint got a clue what they mean, or what they do. Also ive heard u can just add MAC addresses? how would i do that?

Any info would be helpful, ive looked on the Linksys forums but cant seem to find any answers.

Read the wireless sticky?

Encryption's mostly self-explanatory. You pick an option from a list and enter some text, then enter that text on every wireless device you connect (it'll ask you for it when it connect).
You're looking for WPA or WPA2 (Personal in both cases if it's an option). What other wireless hardware you're trying to use might reduce the options (that'll work) on that list.

MAC address access lists are mostly pointless.
