wireless setup help PLEASE! anyone

hi I hope there is someone who can help.
I use Btyahoo as my ISP and have moved from their speedtouch 330 to a Addon GWAR3000. I have LAN'd 2 computers to it due to thick wallls in the house and use a laptop on the system wirefree too, all connect no problem. However, since the move I cannot access my emails using Mozilla Thunderbird on my desktop, they just don't download. What changes do i need to make to my system to access emails, yes i can go to btyahoo to read them but i like using a mailclient. Bt say as i have changed my hardware that is where the problem lies, my settings dont need changing but they don't support mozilla!!

Do you get any error messages from Thunderbird saying why you cannot connect to BT's mail server(s)?
 
Sorry for delay in reply, i get the following message.
An error occured with the pop3 mail server.Mailbtinternet.com responded.

why would a change in hardware bring this about?
 
Check the settings are as follows:

Incoming (POP3) server = mail.btinternet.com
Outgoing (SMTP) server = mail.btinternet.com

Account name is the part of your email address before the @ character.

BT Business broadband uses mail.btconnect.com at least for SMTP, if not for POP3 as well.
 
it all worked before i changed from voyager to addon, I have not changed any settings in Thunderbird. All the settings are as they need to be.
