Anybody got one?

I'm looking to get one to hook up my "call you" feature that my alarm has pre-installed. My telephone socket is on the other side of the room to the alarm control panel.

I can't really run the wire under the carpet as its a "double skinned" one (underlay built into carpet) and for some bizarre reason, the carpet has been glued to the floor, so its much more hassle to rip up the carpet.

I've read good and bad reviews about the wireless telephone extensions, basically they plug into an ordinary plug socket, and transmit the signal across the room, or from another room to the telephone point.

Has anyone got one, and how good are they?

Many thanks :)

Run a cable around the skirting boards, will take you half a hour and cost about a tenner and won't need to be powered. You shouldn't run cables under carpets anyway.

The units are OK, but it's another bit of kit in your room.

I could do that, but its got to go over a doorway if i do that, i don't really want to see cable running half way around the room... Even the slimline wire will be very visible.
