I have got my self the Netgear DGN2000 from O/Clockers And all is good bar can not stream music or video from laptop to PS3 in wireless mode.

On the front end of Ps3 i can see my laptop and it see my content but when i try to play music or Video it says content corrupted ? I did not have this with the old router which was an Dg834.

Also when i set up my new router i used the back up router option which brilliant.

Thanks for any help...

Are you running any kind of security? i.e. WPA or WPA2? Try disabling this and testing again; then if it works you know it's down to that.

I had trouble setting up some of my mate's PS3's with Routers and it was all just down to the security. I can't remember if I had trouble with WPA or WPA2 or if it was down to the encryption. i.e. TKIP or AES.

Worth a shot though!

Thanks FireGod

I do have Wpa2 so i will look into that, But if that it is the case then do i need to disable that every time i need to stream to the PS3??

Hi

No I don't think you need to disable it, just choose another level, be that WPA or WEP. Or... another method, TKIP or AES. :)

Well if i disable all security on the router then i can stream to the PS3 ? and i have tried all other types but does not work?

So i am at a loss as to what to do can you help.....

Hmm. I don't own a PS3 personally so I'm not sure what else to suggest. At least we've narrowed it down to the security. When you were testing, and for example, setting the security to WEP or WPA on the router, were you doing the same on the PS3 to match?

EDIT: Also, maybes worth asking in the console section and pointing people to this thread, they maybes could help more. :)
