Wireless USB adaptors any good?

Are wireless USB adaptors any good? I'm suffering with an intermittent wireless connection at the moment, and it may be partly due to the fact that the current PCI adaptor I have is stuck down at the bottom of the case underneath a desk. I'm just wondering if a USB adaptor that I could simply plug into my monitor USB port would give me a better signal? The position is certainly better. Or are these things a bit rubbish?

The ones I have used have never been a problem. Use them when gaming and transferring files and it has never been an issue.

USB performs the same as PCI from my experience. Never had issues with any wireless adaptors.

Same for me, I'm using the usb adaptor with my Netgear DG834PN and it's perfect for gaming and file transferring.

With usb you can move them around to get the best signal, pci like you say gets stuck in a corner behind your pc, but is nice & tidy.

I found the linksys usb adaptor performed a lot better than the pci equivalent ... and it was only £6 from a supermarket. :p
