I recently built a new computer and forgot to buy a new wireless card (old one is stuck to motherboard o.0) i'd rather not open my computer and fiddle about again because im lazy and everything is nicely in place.

Are wireless USB adaptors as good? better? or clearly worse? If they are I guess I'll have to go network card :(

Thanks,

Jonny/Majik

Jonny, a pci wifi card is neater! how can it be a fiddle! ?
side panel off, push out a back plate, slide card in, single screw (or clip) to the card, slide panel back on, screw / push Ariel in job done!

BUT, USB WiFi adapters are not really any worse as they have the same Chips as an internal card, some suffer with a low signal due to the amount of shielding and no Ariel, so i would get yourself a USB WiFi adapter with an SMA Connector so you can add a decent Ariel if you need to.

TBH I have a Wireless USB dongle stuck behind one of my drive face plates in one of my rigs. Its connected to a spare usb header on the mobo and it work just fine. No external ariel whatsoever but then again neither do laptops.

Laptops have two Antennas of arround 20" both at diff frequency's trailing under the Keybaord and around the screens 17" laptops have 3 and N'class have four antennas.

Its all about the range of which you wish to cover + the things in between.
