Hi,

I found, for £30, a wireless controller & adapter to allow you to use it on the PC.

I love the Xbox controller & would love to be able to play my PC games with one as well.

I just wondered if the support for them is good (nice customisable drivers etc.)?

Thanks,
Craig.

Am using one these myself....

Works fine in everything i played so far....But there nothing customisable about the drivers...(Vista comes with the drivers already installed)

That would be the Crossfire adapter? I'm having all sorts of trouble with mine, looks like it really doesn't like the Logitech software (and/or the other way round) and kills both my G15 and G7 when plugged in. I've no idea where to go for support either.

I'm using the wireless adapter with a Logitech G7 on Vista 32bit with no problems at all. I did have to download the drivers for it from Microsoft, as the ones on the cd didn't work. Been playing TRA and CM DiRT with it, and the support is excellent for those games. Also played Dreamfall: Longest Journey with it and it worked perfectly. Paid £15 for it from the "computer earth" place I never go to, but the wife was looking in clothes shops at a retail park, so I'd gone in there for refuge :D

I have had no troubles with mine. One annoying this is there is no way to quickly turn the controller off you have to just leave it there. All games do not insta set it up but i have got around it with a 3rd party controller software. Not me personally but a lot of people have had issues running wireless keyboards, mice etc at the same time, something to do with it blocking the signal and then having to replug their periperals in for them to work. This especially happens with logitech. Having said all that, mine runs ok, its by far the best controller for the pc imo, would reccommend it.

Interesting. I originally installed the software off the CD which proceeded to automatically update itself, which I'd assume meant it was the latest version. I'll try a clean install of the latest ones.

To be honest i find the wired controller superior, no batteries to worry about, or signal blocking and it comes with a healthy length of USB cable.

Mine works flawlessly with the Microsoft drivers.

As for turning it off, I just pop the battery out.

Yeah, I fannied around at first trying to find a way to turn it off, then I just gave up and now I just pop the battery out and back in.

Yea, I guess the wired one would get past all that, but I'd like to be able to play from anywhere in my room... I doubt the cable would stretch to the other side of my room where my bed is.

I have a MX1000 at the moment so I just hope it doesn't cause any problems.

The one I found for £30... it says it's basically a wireless Xbox360 controller with a crossfire adapter - so I could use the controller on the Xbox as well.

Usually wireless controllers are ~£30? Is there any difference between the normal wireless controller and the wireless controller w/crossfire adapter?

Found it on OcUK as well...: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GC-001-MS

Thanks,
Craig.

I guess if the MX1000 and the controller did clash then a simple fix would be just to re-connect the mouse (with the button on the receiver) until you find a compatible one.

Thanks,
Craig.

Afaik, they're the same.

Still no joy - it seems like the G15 LCDMon.exe is the one causing the problem. Is anyone else using it along with a G15 without issues? I'll see what Logitech say about it.

Nope, the "Windows" controller is no different, it just comes with a driver disc. You can use any Xbox 360 controller as long as you have the wireless receiver.

I bought the wireless adaptor so I could use my 360 wireless controllers on the PC, works like a charm in Vista - no need for any drivers it just picks it up and installs it - new driver is found on Windows Update next time it checks.

Nice, thanks very much.

I think it'll be a good buy @ only £30 - I would have thought the package would be ~£50 as the receiver on its own is £20 and the controller on its own is £30.

Thanks all :)
Craig.
