Hi,

Ive just purchased some strobes for my car, which consists of 2 bulbs, an inverter, 2 switches (on/off and change strobe pattern).

Ive just wired it up to the battery for a test run and looks great!

One problem though, how would i take the wire from the battery to the interior of the vehicle to install the switches on the dash.

i know normally there is a little hole under the glove compartment, but i cant seem to find one. Is it worth drilling a hole?

I have a Ford Escort 1999.

Please help

Wow i bet they will look fantastic when done, escorts rock

Thanks mate, yes they look great when i just hooked them upto the battery, but should look better when installed in the fogs.

I would one day like to convert a Honda NSX into a police vehicle, strobes, siren custom artwork etc everything. Just one of my goals. But i wont be able to drive it anywhere, due to it saying POLICE everywhere!!!!!!!!!!

By the way i am a police officer, thats where i got the interest from :)

Are you planning to 'pull' these birds by taking advantage of them after they suffer epileptic fits?

Then you really, really, really should know better

LOL, im just simply trying to accomplish something, and my goal is to recreate a police vehicle. I love customising vehicles

Others like to go over the top (you may think im going OTT) but really whos going to watch TV under the car, on the steering wheel, on the rear view mirror etc (just some of the things on pimp my ride and also on car shows ive seen)

If you like customising and working with vehicles, your goal is trying to recreate something which no one has never thought of (even though it doesnt make sense sometimes, and things may not be practicle). Mine is to try and recreate a police vehicle.

I assume you mean an undercover police vehicle? Should have got an Omega MV6 or a Volvo V70 T5R as a base car :)

Yes i know what you mean, but wheres the fun in exactly recreating a police vehicle.

Why not use a different vehicle as a base car and work on that. Just imagine a Honda NSX kitted with everything? how hot is that.

for example look at this Lamborghini Murcielago now thats hot!!!!!

Have you got any pictures of your escort? Not my thing, but sounds like an interesting project thats for sure.

You cannot legally drive a vehicle fitted with roof top blue strobes and the words "POLICE" written all over it though, so i cant see how you will ever recreate a marked police car?

All true, but these days you can get light bars on the roof which look clear, but when switched on appear blue

about police all over the vehicle, well i could always get around it by getting thin removable magnetic signage maybe. Im planning on custom signage like on this website http://www.gallsgraphicsuperstore.com ive not researched the signage properly, just dealing with the internal kit at the moment.

I sometimes wish that I was an unmarked policeman when people do stoopid things which wind me up, would be so much fun to see the look on their faces when you pull them over.

I wouldn't go so far as fitting strobes to my car though, that's just silly :p

I fully agree, why re-create a T5R or an Omega MV6 when you can stick Ripspeed tat and Ebay special lights on an old Escort.

It bet it looks the dogs down maccy's on a Friday night.
