Wish me luck !

When i press power button on pc NOTHING happens at all

When i bridged to wires it started up. But obv no power to mobo, so fans hd's and think dvd players started to spin

This case has a micro switch on it, to tell you the case has been opened? Its a thermaltake armour. I dont think on the last case this was plugged in anywhere tho? Ive tried pressing it and pc still doesnt do anything

have you plugged the power connector into your graphics card, have you plugged in the 4/8 pin CPU connector, did you remember to put standoffs between the mobo and case, have you tried reseting the c-mos. plenty of things to check yet ;).

try re-assembling it outside the case and see if it works.

you'll get there in the end

edit: armour? i had the armour LCS and the mobo tray had some cut outs that stuck up from the tray, in the manual it tells you to place two (provided) plastic sticky strips over the metal bits (to stop them potentially shorting the mobo), if this is the case DID YOU DO IT!

I just grabbed a paper clip and bridged two connections.
Things powered up like fans etc
so what does that mean lol
PSU works.
So problem is it being not told to start by motherboard...
Although motherboard's power cable being detached means it could be also something shorting motherboard.

Double check that power button of case is connected to right pins in motherboard.
After that I would remove motherboard from case checking that there's nothing shorting it and that all standoffs are in correct positions. (and install components back carefully)

oh and yes, is the power button connected properly iirc the way your mother board is oriented you should have the writing on the little connectors pointed at the bottom of the case.

i unplugged everything that i didnt need, and now it starts, So now what do i do?

plug things in one at a time until you find something that makes it stop working (ps turn it off at the mains before putting stuff back in)

also, answer the Q, what GPU do you have? or is it onboard?

edit: odd really but i wouldn't have thought DVD drives, HDDs, GPUs and RAM would stop it turning on completely

edit2: and that gamerscore is far to high... how can you possibly earn enough money to have all those games and have enough time to play them damn you :p

Ive done it :D

Thanks guys

There is two little black plugs that control the top usb ports. I plugged these in and pc would not start, unplugged then it would. SO they were the wrong way round!

Why would that cause a problem?

actually, i think i did this on my last build, i don't know why they make it not start at all (ie not even post), makes no sense really. oh well, it's sorted now

please make payment payable to...

:D

give up? joke i had a similar problem, what i did was to start it up without all the un-essentials and add them while it was on, probably really stupid idea but worked, i dont suggest it... but it worked for me!

it's a good idea, the stupid part is having it running whilst plugging components in ;)
