Witcher 2 WTF???

Hi please help, using standalone version.


Anyone having problems with this game today? it was running fine the past few days i had it, now i cant even get into the game as the intro movies and even the menu system are like 1fps?????

Ive tried all the usual like remove old graphics drivers and updated to the latest hot fixed ati ones, i updated witcher to 1.2, set detail to low and disabled everything.
I even ran it in window mode and reinstalled the game twice, removed the save folder.

I just dont know what to do apart from format and reinstall windows???

All my other games work fine at high fps (ati 6970)
 
also when i was running in window i saw in task manager that its using about 0/1% cpu usage?? wtf
 
Do you have Anti-Aliasing enabled via the AMD control panel? I read the game isn't compatible and it needs to be disabled.
 
just installed the steam client froma mates account. doing the same **** FFASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
No one but me seams to have this, all i did was shutdown pc and then boot up next day to play for this crap.

Go back to your gfx settings and make sure they are all on application controlled. If you try and force anything in the control panel, Witcher 2 can have a big problem with it :S
 
ok fixed it, turns out i must have turned something off that the witcher loves in msconfig last night.

But now an annoying thing i have is these stupid black boarders on the top and bottom of the screen?? its in the correct res.

under 5) Key Known Issues

"The game supports only 16:9 widescreen resolutions."
 
Yea my screen is native 16:10 how annoying.
I guess its not worth downgrading to 1.0?
