Hi guys,

just wondering in your opinions which of the above is better? For me it appears skyrim has more depth than witcher 3 but not sure.

I'm concentrating more on gameplay as I can mod skyrim graphics quite well.

thanks in advance
Damian

How can we possibly know this, the game isn't even out.

Also one if first person, the other is third person so that gives you a different experience anyway.

I agree Skyrim is boring though. No memorable characters that I could even name in the entire game.

No idea about Witcher 3 as it is not out yet, but Skyrim is as boring as it gets.

As above, I found Skyrim mind blowingly boring but cannot be compared to Witcher yet.

People love Skyrim because it can be modded to death but they end up spending more time modding than they do actually playing.

That's true

It's rare to hear anyone say "You gotta play Skyrim, it's an amazing game"

Usually it's

"If you are going to play Skyrim, install these 10 graphic mods and this UI mod and this map mod etc etc"

As much as i liked elder scroll games skyrim got boring real quick (first played it on xbox 360) needs to many mods to make it remotely enjoyable now.

Gameplay i can see witcher 3 been the better game if the last 2 are anything to go by

Skyrim is a masterpiece that only needs graphics mods if you are the type of person who needs the graphics to be comparable to the very best games. In which case, most games that are approaching 4 years old need graphics mods.

If Witcher 3 is anywhere near as good, this thread will be fairly pointless as it would be comparing two amazing games.

Ive always found skyrim to have very little depth below its surface tbh, always found it to be a little over rated and its combat was horrid

Nice setting though and visually awesome at the time
but the witcher 3 looks to have the better combat and story imo! Never managed to push through the skyrim main quest

This is literally the funniest thing I have ever read on OCUK.

Skyrim more depth than Witcher.

:D

Skyrim is as big as ocean, and deep as a puddle.

Witcher 3 seems to be as big as two oceans, and deep as an...ocean? But we will not see until it releases.
Reviews make it sound that way though.

I spent 1200+ hours playing a heavily modded Skyrim, I'll make a comparison when I've done the same with W3 :)

BTW don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Skyrim. Played it for 170 hours.
It is great in its openness and atmosphere. But the story, characters and many quests are very bland. Even after those 170 hours I struggle to remember any memorable characters.

Enjoyed playing Skyrim through, completed the story and did all of the sidequests I found along the way. Not been back to it since though.

hmm depends on the combat in W3, I found the combat in W1 and to a lesser extent W2 to be awful. Never even bothered to finish them as I just couldn't face hours of terrible fighting. Shame as W2 looked to have a really good story.

Still way better than Skyrim though. Granted I have 300 hours logged into Skyrizzle on the PC and probably the same across PS3/360 but Witcher is miles better, got about 100 hours combined in the two and feel like I've gotten more value from those two than Skyrim, quality > quantity.

and the Nerevarine but that was a mod
