So I have nearly completed The Witcher. I've literally been playing 12 hours a day (Lots of free time at the moment - Summer)

I have already bought The Witcher 2 in preparation for playing that through, and I would be interested if anyone can give me some advice about other "similar" games I could get, preferably on steam.

I have looked into NWN1 and 2, but they seem to have a general consensus of: They are not very good for Single Player storyline plots?

I have also been recommended Baulders Gate by a friends, and you can apparently mod it to have better graphics, but I am not overly sure. They also recommended Planescape Torment and Icewind Dale. I *think* I played Icewind Dale when I was a lot younger, years ago, but I'm not sure haha.

Preferably, I would like another RPG with a great storyline like the Witcher. Preferably a modern game.

I have played:

1. Morrowind - a little, not properly, but I don't think I can stomach the mechanics and having to mod the game to look good.
2. Oblivion - and all expansions
3. Mass Effect 1
4. KOTOR 1
5. Dragon Age 1
6. Fallout 3

I would prefer a Fantasy Game, over Sci-Fi. The only Sci-Fi I have ever really liked is Star Wars. I would contemplate playing KOTOR 2, but I can't be bothered trying to get it to work on Windows 7.

TL;DR:

Recommend a good, easy to get into, great storyline RPG

Cheers!

Jade Empire

The graphics hold up today and it has a great story. It's also easy to get into and is quite action-orientated. I'd recommend using a joypad to play it though!

It works fine on Windows 7

Divinity 2 Dragon Knight Saga

Its a rpg like witcher 2 but with "proper" combat, you get two games in one - ego draconis remastered and flames of vengeance.

Ego draconis came out last year and this version has had a graphical makeover.

Great games if you want a challenge.

i would say Mass Effect 2 or Fallout New Vegas but you're not keen on sci fi.

how about the latest Fable now that it's out on PC?

woot you haven't played Baldur's Gate. not sure on how it stacks gfx wise today even if there are tweak mods to improve, too bad because that was one of the best

I strongly disagree, but the game itself is just far, far too good to let something so inconsequential get in the way :)

I think it still looks damn good in places but maybe I exaggerate a little. Put it this way instead. It's not that fugly! ;)

Edit - Oh, and it's only £8.99 on Steam!
