What I dont get is, if you have 16gb, why does windows set the pagefile as 16gb or more? Cos thats 24gb all together and windows must know it wont ever use that ammout of memory.. It should be the more memory you have the pagefile should decrease surely?

Windows makes crazy assumptions during installation...
Install windows with < 2GB RAM and if possible on a small partition and expand / load up the RAM post installation. Failing that tweak post install by placing a custom page file size don't leave it to windows to decide
Noticed any difference? I'm fed up of space management, and a 256GB SSD is too expensive at the moment. I noticed my page file was 12GB, so I've set to 1GB for the time being to see how I manage. It's still on the SSD.
