Sorry I'm terrible with networks, how would I go about obtaining these stats?Post on the VM support forums with your cable modem stats. They should be able to help.

Yes I have troubleshooted, unplugged everything and plugged it all back in again, ran tests on other computers that come back with similar results, checked the Ethernet cables for any damage to the wires. Unplugged the wires and used wireless to check that there isn't an issue with the Ethernet wires As I said I'm not great with networks so if there is anything else I can do then let me know. I can't ring VM because they will only speak to the account holder, said account holder doesn't think there is a problem and wont look at the results I'm getting and how long it takes to load a page. Are you using anything other than speedest? Seriously posts like this make me lol.
Some people have issues and that makes it unstable and crap...lol
Have you even made an attempt to troubleshoot or phone VM?
virgin is pretty unstable to be honest, sometimes you get good speeds other times they are crap.
Had the tech guy out today and my speeds seem to be doing decent now 19mbs on 20mb broadband, which seems to be stable for once.
i downgraded from 50mb because i wasnt getting no where near that speed too, not impressed with virgin.

Thank you, although I doubt I'll get a quick reply.. seems that the forum staff are on holiday.http://192.168.100.1 will open the modem page. If it asks for a username and password, it should be 'root' for both. The stats are on the various pages there, which they will ask for. Easier to post them on your opening post to save time![]()
I notice in your posts above that your "slow" speedtests are all when performed against the Newbury server. Others give you a better reading.
If I do a speedtest I don't get a maxed out download but I do from fast newsgroup servers with multiple connections.
