I'm using Windows Media Player 12 in W7 Pro 64bit and when I try to rip a music CD it is unable to find any track tags, it just shows all info as unknown.

Reading the CD using Winamp does however find track information.

Any suggestions for solving this?

Thanks.

have you tried a few different cds? WMP using some microsoft online database. i don't know what winamp uses but it will be a different source. depending on how mainstream the cd is, you might not always get a match.

I've tried 5 or 6 different CDs now and WMP is still unable to find any album info while winamp is able to retrieve the info via its database. Using the find album information option in media player gives the error:

"This program cannot display the webpage"

In XP WMP11, the tags were found for all my CDs.

Maybe make sure its allowed through your firewall? Sounds like it cant connect to the database
