No matter which version of WMP I use it does not show the video image, or even visualizations. However video works fine on. Real player, Quick time, VLC, Media player classic, VLC.

I have tried to reinstall and change the player with no luck.

Any help much appreciated.

It sounds like a codec problem - there are some codecs that WMP will simply not run (.rmj being a good example).

What format is this file in??

No file format will not show an image.

Do you mean in the way that sound plays but theres no picture except for .wmf videos? If so then I have this problem also, I think its down to codecs or a lack of them.

I just downloaded VLC and use that for everything now, havent used WMP in months.

Nearly, sound plays but even the inbuilt visualizations do not work, no video file even .wmf files play an image.

For me, same thing happens (i.e. sound but no video) if Winamp is running in the background & doesn't matter if playing music, if its on pause & or even stopped  Affects also PowerDVD. Have to close Winamp then video comes back

Any file type including WMV, no format displays a picture. Do not have power DVD, WMP used to work fine then one day just stopped working. :(
