I can no longer share my media, I used to be able to stream stuff to my xbox 360, went away for a week a while back came back and it stopped working altogether, great.
Basically I go to 'media sharing' a box comes up I click 'share my media' then another box is supposed to come up showing the 360 and allowing me to share my media to that. But the second box no longer comes up, after the first box comes up I have to click cancel, I go back to media sharing and it comes up with an error message. 'windows media sharing has been turned off because a required setting or component has changed'

I've tried a bunch of stuff including http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925718 and as per microsoft's site going into safe mode and uninstalling/rolling back to a previous version, then updating back to wmp11.

Also

TIA.

Stupid Question time. Have you tried re-starting the Media Sharing service?

Rt Click Computer, select management, when Manager opens select Services and Applications, select Services, then scroll down the list, In Windows 7 there is an item called "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service", should be set to Automatic and started.

It's not a stupid question, I appreciate the help.

However I have already tried that, several times including ssdp and universal plug and play. I had to disable them when deleting some wmp files in an attempt to get it working again.
