WMP11 problem - sound card / drivers related? (Audigy 2)

At the risk of cross-posting, I posted about this problem in the Windows forum and it was suggested that it could be caused by my sound card drivers?

I'm just wondering if anyone else with a Creative sound card has experienced the same phenomenon, or if anyone has any idea what could be the solution? WMP is really not usable for MP3s as it stands due to this problem.

So it is a fault with WMP11 and not something at my end then - oh well, that is disappointing but at least I know now and can stop looking for a solution

That file isn't on my machine, it seems. All I have installed are the drivers, not all the other crap Creative provide

I'm not getting audio distortion, I'm just missing the first second or two of the song.
