WMV HD

WMV HD is just a codec. the bitrate can be anything. it just so happens that WMV HD has been used to create films that will fit on a DVD, but its the same codec used in HD DVD just at a much higher bitrate.
.

I know that, thats why I said wmv-hd releases were worse than blu-ray releases because they use a lower bitrate because there is less space, I already said wmv-hd is vc1 which is wmv9.

If you think wmv9 is dramatically better than mpeg4 avc you have been watching some poorly encoded material. The one issue I have had with wmv is it seeming blurry compared to other codecs, after reading up on other peoples thoughts it seems that I am not imagining this, h.264 seems much sharper in comparison.
