I know that, thats why I said wmv-hd releases were worse than blu-ray releases because they use a lower bitrate because there is less space, I already said wmv-hd is vc1 which is wmv9.
If you think wmv9 is dramatically better than mpeg4 avc you have been watching some poorly encoded material. The one issue I have had with wmv is it seeming blurry compared to other codecs, after reading up on other peoples thoughts it seems that I am not imagining this, h.264 seems much sharper in comparison.
